Afternoon Delight 2020 bom
Afternoon Delight is one of Sue Garman's favorite patterns. Truly a delight to make, this scrappy quilt is a combination of simple applique blocks, double nine-patch blocks, and modified shoo fly blocks.

Got the 4 appliqué blocks done for January. Just need to do a couple of shoo-fly blocks, then ready for February.
February:
Getting started with this month’s blocks. Tulips are fun.
Still need to do the 2 shoofly blocks for January, and guess what? There are 2 more for February. Just can’t seem to get started with them.
First block for February finally done. Been fighting a bad cold, so haven’t been working on the prep work. Hopefully can get another one ready tomorrow. Happy with the quilt so far.

Slow progress this month, but keep reminding myself it’s not a race. Enjoying the process.

Almost done, just one corner and then the center.
Third block almost done. Used the starch and press method with freezer paper.
Well, got it finished. The middle star got a little wonky, but I kinda like it that way. Now to start the last February appliqué block.
Did the brown, now the red. Easier block than I thought it would be.

On to March......

First march block completed
Interesting. The site recommended keeping the red star complete. Sure made the block easier to do.
Same with this block. Instead of multiple pieces the stems and leaves are two sections. Simplified.

Another block completed
One more appliqué block for March. Really need to get busy on the shoofly blocks. Not sure why it’s taking so long. Just haven’t been in the mood to cut and sew on the machine. Handwork has been my latest interest.
Working on the last appliqué block. So far have 3 parts. Keeping them whole instead of cutting them up. Short cut.
Got a little thick, but turned out ok
First April block completed. Now to press it and start the next one.
2 more April blocks done, one more to go. Have a couple days before May blocks come out.
Last one done. This was a fun one to do. Now on to May blocks
Got 3 of May done, one more to go. Still need to get busy with the shoo-fly blocks.
Finally got 4 done. Just 5 more shoofly blocks to go.
Appliqué blocks from January through June completed. Each month was 4 blocks, but June was only 2.
First set done. 12 out of 64.
